Liam Matthew Dye

Liam Matthew Dye (b.1985) is an Arizona-based painter known for his powerful and expressive depictions of horses and the rugged landscapes of the American Southwest. Growing up on a farm in the Midwest, he developed a strong connection to the land and animals that continues to shape his artistic vision. His early experiences working horses and herding cattle instilled in him a deep respect for the natural world, which he captures through bold brushwork, a rich, natural palette, and a loose, intuitive style. Dye’s work blends expressive techniques with loose brushwork, bringing each subject to life on the canvas and offering viewers a sense of both freedom and presence. His artistic approach is deeply informed by the legacy of iconic American painters such as Lon Megargee, Maynard Dixon, and Ed Mell.
